Could JJ Gabriel make his Manchester United debut this season?

The 15-year-old has 10 goals in the U18 Premier League.

Manchester United’s highly anticipated youngster, JJ Gabriel, has been seen working with the first squad ahead of their forthcoming match. Five academy players have been offered the chance to practice with Ruben Amorim’s team, including the 15-year-old prodigy.

His performance has enticed Amorim to allow the teenager to train with the senior squad. If he impresses during the practice, he could soon make his United debut.

Due to the U21’s demanding schedule, which includes games played behind closed doors, the young players have been engaged in first-team training.

Can JJ Gabriel make his Man Utd debut this season?

JJ Gabriel will not be able to make his first-team debut until at least January, despite his outstanding results for the Under-18s and his advancement in training.

This is because of Premier League regulations specifying that a player must have turned 15 by August 31 to participate in a new season. Gabriel’s fifteenth birthday was only last month.

However, these regulations are not in effect in the FA Cup. As a result, the teenager might make his competition debut in early January during the third round.

Given that the other players in training are old enough to play in the Premier League, Amorim could look to give this young player his big break.

In the upcoming months, United’s youth talents might have more chances to establish themselves. The United team will be more stretched with Amad Diallo, Bryan Mbeumo and Noussair Mazraoui all travelling to participate for their countries at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
