European countries have dominated this tournament.
The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the global governing body of football, organises the FIFA Club World Cup (FIFA CWC), an international men’s association football competition. The FIFA Club World Championship was the original name of the competition when it began in 2000.
A number of variables combined to prevent it from taking place between 2001 and 2004. The FIFA Club World Cup prize and a FIFA World Champions certificate are awarded to the Club World Cup winner.
Although Spanish teams have won the competition eight times, which nation has won the most Club World Cup titles outside of Spain? Let’s examine.
Spain possesses the most Club World Cup titles.
5. Germany: 2 CWC Titles
Germany only boasts two FIFA Club World Cup trophies, and both have been won by Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga team won their initial trophy in 2013 when they beat Raja Casablanca 2-0 in the final. However, their next Club World Cup came after eight years.
They reached the final and overcame UANL Tigres 1-0 in the championship match. Since then, Bayern have not won the trophy and remain the only German club to win the tournament.
4. Italy: 2 CWC Titles
Italy are fourth when it comes to FIFA Club World Cup trophies. There are two different clubs to have lifted the trophy from Italy. The first-ever Italian club to win the championship were AC Milan in 2007, who beat Argentine team Boca Juniors 4-2 in the final to win their trophy and put Italy on the map of the tournament.
Following Milan, the second Italian team to win the competition were their neighbours Inter Milan. In 2010, they defeated TP Mazembe 3-0 in the final.
3. England: 4 CWC Titles
England are third when bragging about the FIFA Club World Cup titles as they have four different clubs to have won the tournament. The first-ever side to bring the trophy to England were Manchester United. The Red Devils side prevailed against LDU Quito 1-0 in the final in 2008.
The second English side to clinch the Club World Cup were Liverpool, who beat Flamengo 1-0 in the final to win their first-ever trophy in 2019. Chelsea emerged as the third English club to win their maiden FIFA Club World Cup. They overcame Palmeiras 2-1 in 2021 before Manchester City secured the fourth trophy for England in 2023 by beating Fluminense 4-0.
2. Brazil: 4 CWC Titles
Brazil share the same number of FIFA Club World Cups as England. The first edition of the competition winner were a Brazilian team, Corinthians, who beat Vasco de Gama on penalties and won the event in 2000.

Internacional were the second Brazilian side to lift the trophy as they beat Spanish giant Barcelona 1-0 in the final. After six years, Brazil finally secured their fourth FIFA Club World Cup when Corinthians lifted their second title after beating Chelsea 1-0.
