Al-Nassr will next return to action on Friday, 6th February.

Dispelling rumours, Cristiano Ronaldo has not left Riyadh and is still training with Al-Nassr, a new report suggests. A return to his own country has been ruled out as the Portuguese icon might look to the MLS or Europe for his next move, but he is still incensed over the club’s lack of transfer activity and the drama surrounding Karim Benzema’s move to Al-Hilal.

Explosive rumours that have been making the rounds in the Saudi Arabian press suggest that Cristiano Ronaldo has not gone AWOL in an attempt to force an exit from Al-Nassr.

Over the past day, there has been a growing amount of speculation that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner left the capital city and skipped not only their last match but training sessions after a falling out with the club’s leadership.

Reports of Ronaldo’s training ground strike suppressed

Portuguese outlet Record says he’s still in Riyadh and has a flawless attendance record at the club’s training. According to the report, Cristiano Ronaldo has not missed any of the scheduled sessions and is anticipated to fully engage in manager Jorge Jesus’ training today.

The club is getting up for a huge matchup against Al-Ittihad on Friday, so this clarity comes at a crucial time. Despite being physically present, Cristiano Ronaldo remains quite unhappy with the club’s current state.

What was the cause of Cristiano Ronaldo’s fury?

His ire is a result of a chaotic January transfer window, during which he believes the Public Investment Fund (PIF) failed to provide Al-Nassr with any support, while their direct competitors were given a clear advantage.

Naturally, amid the chaos, rumours of an emotional return to play in his homeland, Portugal, began to circulate. Record, though, has categorically denied a return to the Portuguese league. Although fans find the romantic story of Cristiano Ronaldo concluding his career in his own nation appealing.
