Almeria are currently in the second division of the Spanish football league pyramid.
Almeria team vying for promotion to LaLiga may be the target of an ambitious takeover by Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo may be engaged in the Saudi takeover of Almeria, which has been acquired by an investment firm headed by Mohamed Al-Khereiji, according to Marca. After helping the former Real Madrid player go to Al-Nassr in 2022, the new owner is rumoured to have a deeper relationship with Ronaldo.
Ronaldo might purchase stock in the investment group that has completed the takeover and is associated with advertising, sports, and the media. According to the report, it is probable that he would later become involved in Almeria. In the last few weeks of the season, the team is fighting for promotion back to LaLiga.
Apart from football, Ronaldo has been constructing a business empire that includes investments in fashion, technology, hotels, and health. Additionally, he has stock in the water brand URSU.
The five-time Ballon d’Or champion has made investments in fitness, fashion, technology, and hospitality as he has gradually grown his economic empire. Brands including URSU water, CR7 Footwear, CR7 Fragrances, CR7 Underwear, and the healthy lifestyle app ERAKULIS are all part of his portfolio.
His aspirations for his post-playing career would reach yet another significant milestone with this possible move into football ownership.
The SMC Group, which runs Al-Awwal Park, the home of Al Nassr, and administers advertising space for Saudi Arabia’s national broadcaster, is growing in power in the media and sports industries. Ronaldo’s participation might raise the club’s visibility internationally, especially given its close ties to Saudi Arabia’s 2034 FIFA World Cup plans.
Marca claims that Ronaldo’s potential ownership of Almeria shares through SMC is being seriously considered, despite the fact that no formal announcement has been made. His arrival would provide the Spanish team, which is now vying for promotion back to LaLiga, not only attention but also substantial commercial power.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo did not play in Friday’s 1-1 tie with Al-Taawoun, but he is expected to play in Al-Nassr’s final two Saudi Pro League games against Al-Khaleej and Al-Fateh.
