The Portuguese also rejected an approach from the Gunners.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s former Manchester United teammate Patrice Evra gave an insight into how the 39-year-old promised to never join this one English club despite receiving an offer from them.

Ronaldo who spent four years at United won the UEFA Champions League and Premier League and also lifted his first of many Ballon d’Or. His quick ascendance in football saw him receive an offer from the Spanish club Real Madrid, where he further cemented himself as one of the greatest players of all time.

The Portuguese continued to make history as he joined Juventus where made an instant contribution before he returned to United where he spent a season. However, things didn’t go quite well for the 39-year-old who left the club after his second stint in Manchester. It ended as an awkward situation and the player joined the Saudi club Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo is currently playing for Al Nassr and is making waves in the Middle East. However, Evra has recently revealed that Ronaldo had a chance to return to the Premier League. He was offered a chance three years prior, with the former full-back claiming ArsenalChelsea and Paris Saint-Germain were all in for him in 2018.

But Ronaldo had no intention of joining Arsenal when they wanted to sign the forward for six years. Instead, he was keen on signing for PSG before Juventus swooped him in, as Evra further revealed:

“Has Cristiano ever wanted to come to PSG? Yes,” Evra told RMC Sport. “There was Paris, Arsenal… That was before he signed for Juventus (in 2018).”

“He had Chelsea, Juventus, Paris. He said he would never go to Arsenal. He was interested in the (Parisian) project. You can criticize Cristiano, but he would have adapted. He would have made an effort. Look at what he is doing in Saudi Arabia. He is a Saudi!”

After leaving Manchester United, Ronaldo was keen to continue in Europe but the forward failed to find any suitors that saw him join the Saudi club. Since his move there, plenty of other top stars from European teams have joined many other Saudi clubs.
