Cristiano Ronaldo honoured as 'Best of All Time' by Liga Portugal

The evergreen striker was recognised with a new honour.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been honoured as the ‘Best of All Time.’ His exceptional goalscoring exploits were recognised by the Portuguese league, and he was handed the prestigious award by Liga Portugal.

Ronaldo spent a year playing at Sporting CP before he joined Manchester United, where he cemented his legacy as one of the best of all time and won his first of five Ballon d’Ors.

His subsequent move to Real Madrid was another big transfer for the player, where he continued to climb the ladder and established himself as the greatest of all time.

Not only club level, but at the international stage, Cristiano Ronaldo has been a force to be reckoned with. He is currently the top scorer of all time, presently standing with 141 international goals.

Ronaldo is still going strong at the age of 40

Cristiano Ronaldo is now 40 years old, playing for Al-Nassr. Even now, he has been scoring goals left and right. He recently signed a two-year contract extension with the Saudi club.

Despite playing beyond his peak career, Ronaldo remains a global star with his goal-scoring instincts, and now he has been honoured with a major award in his native land, Portugal. It highlights his impact on the sport.

Acknowledging the award, Ronaldo sent a video message and said:

 “I’d like to thank Liga Portugal for this award, being named the best player of all time. As you can imagine, it is a great honour to win something for my country.”

“First of all, I’d like to thank all my team-mates who have helped me throughout my career to win this wonderful trophy, as well as all the coaches and everyone who has supported me on this journey of always pushing to improve. Thank you all so much.”

Ronaldo still has a few years left in his playing career, and he will hopefully make the most of them. He is currently 57 goals away from reaching a 1000-goal landmark, and next year he hopes to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament.
