Cristiano Ronaldo hopes to win third straight Saudi Pro League Golden Boot with Al Nassr

The Portuguese megastar will be more focused on lifting the league title this time around.

As the 2025–26 Saudi Pro League season begins, Cristiano Ronaldo is poised to reach yet another significant milestone.

Since coming to Riyadh in 2023, the Al Nassr skipper has already scored 74 goals in 77 Saudi Pro League games, demonstrating his continued capacity to dominate at the top level even at 40.

Ronaldo is now aiming for a third straight Golden Boot after agreeing to a new deal that would keep him with the team until 2027.

He will join a select group comprising three-time league top scorer winners Nasser Al Shamrani, Omar Al Somah, and Abderrazak Hamdallah if he is successful.

Al Somah is the only player to accomplish the feat in three consecutive seasons, while Al Shamrani is still the only player to do so four times.

Ronaldo eyeing another record in Saudi league

Ronaldo still has a knack for scoring goals. He set a new single-season record in 2023–24 SPL with 35 goals, and he hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down.

His preseason performance, which included a hat-trick against Rio Ave and more goals in the pre-season, has demonstrated his hunger for scoring goals.

He maintained that goalscoring run in the Saudi Super Cup final against Al Ahli, scoring his 100th goal for Al Nassr before his team lost on penalties.

With the addition of João Félix, Kingsley Coman, and Iñigo Martínez, who provide both firepower and defensive balance, Al Nassr’s team have been reorganised around him.

The Portuguese superstar and Félix have already reached a positive agreement, raising the possibility that their collaboration might be one of the deadliest in the league.

Beyond group achievement, Ronaldo’s individual journey is just as captivating. With 939 career goals to date, he is very close to reaching the fabled 1,000-goal milestone. He will pursue it relentlessly, if his past performance is any guide.
