Cristiano Ronaldo Jr reveals Lamine Yamal is better than his father 'right now'

In recent weeks, Lamine Yamal has been the focus of public attention. In addition to making headlines for his on-field exploits, the Barcelona youngster is also garnering uncommon attention owing to his off-field activities after his 18th birthday.

He is already being likened to some of the best football players in the world, despite being in the early stages of his career. Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., the son of Real Madrid great Cristiano Ronaldo, expressed his opinions about the Barcelona player on Monday.

The son of the former Real Madrid striker answered the topic of whether Lamine Yamal is superior to his father during a live interview conducted by American streamer RaKai.

“Right now, yes, but he hasn’t won anything yet,” he stated.

Last summer, the two young players crossed paths in the Algarve and met in person. Lamine’s father posted a picture of the encounter on social media, revealing the meeting.

“Lamine is very good, but he hasn’t won anything,” Cristiano Jr. said, restating his admiration but holding fast to his position.

Although the comparisons are premature at this point in his career, it’s important to keep in mind that Lamine has already won two LaLiga titles, which is the same number as Ronaldo did while he was a Real Madrid player.

It’s also important to remember that at the press conference before the June UEFA Nations League final, the Real Madrid icon himself gave the FC Barcelona player high praise. He added that his son admired the young Barcelona star:

“My son and Lamine Yamal look very similar, the skin colour, the tanned skin, the hairstyle. They are three years apart. I like Lamine Yamal a lot and my son admires him a lot,” Cristiano Ronaldo commented.
