Al-Nassr’s highly anticipated goal finally came on an assist provided by Joao Cancelo. Later, he completed his brace in the first half, courtesy of Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes’s assist. Giving a stellar performance against the White Wolves, the 41-year-old also broke and created a bunch of records.
First player to score in six different FIFA World Cup campaigns: Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player to score a goal in six different FIFA World Cup campaigns. He scored his first goal during the 2006 campaign under Luis Figo’s captaincy, and since then, he has scored at least one goal in every campaign.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal against Uzbekistan in Portugal’s second game of the FIFA World Cup 2026 has made him the second-oldest goalscorer in tournament history. The former Real Madrid and Manchester United attacker is currently 41 years old.
The oldest player to score a goal in the summer competition is Cameroon’s Roger Milla. He created the record during the 1994 World Cup against Russia, when he was 42 years and 39 days old.
Before Ronaldo’s goal against the White Wolves, his former Portuguese teammate, Pepe, was the second-oldest player in the exclusive list. He scored against Switzerland during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar at the age of 39 years, 283 days.
The 41-year-old has broken Eusebio’s record of nine total goals for Portugal in the FIFA World Cup. The Benfica icon scored nine goals during the 1966 World Cup. However, Ronaldo has scored 10 goals in 24 appearances, becoming the individual with the most goals for Seleção das Quinas.
Ronaldo has also become the youngest and the oldest goalscorer for Portugal. He joins Argentina’s Lionel Messi and Denmark’s Michael Laudrup in the list.
He also entered the game on a 10-match goalless streak in tournament games. However, he has broken the streak with a brace.
