The Saudi team will face Toulouse in a pre-season game.

Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to training ahead of their pre-season tour in preparation for the upcoming season. The Portuguese sensation recently signed a new deal, which will see him continue at the club until 2027.

Al-Nassr are set to play the French team Toulouse in a pre-season game, followed by the Super Cup semi-final against Al-Ittihad.

Last season, Ronaldo’s side finished third in the league, once again falling short of winning the title, while the 40-year-old finished the season as the top scorer in the Saudi Pro League with 25 goals.

The 2025-26 campaign will be crucial for Ronaldo, with the FIFA World Cup on the horizon. The forward will be hoping to achieve success with both club and country.

For now, though, his immediate focus will be on leading the club to a title, having failed to win a major trophy since joining the Middle East club.

Ronaldo’s move to the Saudi team was seen as a landmark step towards building the nation’s pedigree in football. After his move, many other European stars followed suit and joined several Saudi clubs.

However, the blemish in the former Real Madrid player’s stint at Al-Nassr has been the failure to lift any silverware. But as the star has penned a new deal, he will be aiming to end that curse with them.

His signing was seen as a key factor in helping the team to compete on all fronts, but it has not been the case. But now he will be looking to prove his sceptics wrong in the upcoming season. Despite his age (40), he has been a regular starter in all of Al-Nassr’s matches and will look to continue leading the attacking line.

As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on Ronaldo to once again prove his worth. Since his past shows he has a proven record across leagues, he will be prepared to demonstrate his credentials next season.
