Cristiano Ronaldo in talks to buy LaLiga club Valencia: Report

The Portuguese could be backed by Saudi royal investment for financial support to buy the club.
Mundo Deportivo claims that Portuguese sensation Cristiano Ronaldo, who is now a player for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, is negotiating to buy Valencia, a historic LaLiga team in Spain.
It implies that in order to acquire a controlling stake in the Mestalla-based team, Cristiano Ronaldo has held talks with Valencia’s current owner, Peter Lim.
In addition to having multiple collaborative businesses, Ronaldo and Peter Lim are good friends. The close relationship between the two is further demonstrated by the fact that Lim also owns the Portuguese star’s image rights.
Ronaldo is apparently interested in purchasing Valencia, while Peter Lim is eager to sell all of his shares in the team before the end of the current campaign.
It is anticipated that the Portuguese icon will look to Saudi Arabia’s royal investment funds for financial assistance in order to finalize the acquisition, as he plans to settle in Spain following his playing career.
Ronaldo has been making an incredible 200 million euros (around 208 million dollars) annually since joining Al-Nassr in January 2023.
According to some rumours, Saudi money could be supporting Ronaldo through a Saudi investment fund or Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Any agreement, though, is said to depend on Valencia staying in LaLiga EA Sports this season.
Valencia CF are now fighting to stay in the league, and recent club actions have further fueled the allegations. A change in ownership may be imminent, as evidenced by the firing of coach Rubén Baraja, the hiring of Carlos Corberán, and a rush of loan signings.
Meanwhile, the other reports say that Lim has refuted any intentions to sell. Speaking through Singaporean media, Lim reiterated his dedication and even named his son club president, a move that appears to strengthen his family’s influence within the club.
