Ronaldo now has less than a year left on his contract.

According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr, a Saudi Pro League team, are in talks regarding extending his current deal.

With less than a year left on his current contract, the Portuguese legend is currently in talks to prolong his stay with the Saudi Arabian club to prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

After his deal at Manchester United was terminated ahead of the Qatar World Cup, Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in January 2023. He is now in negotiations to continue his time in Riyadh.

With 64 goals in 71 appearances for Al-Nassr, Ronaldo is the highest-paid player in international football, earning over €200 million annually from his current contract in Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo would guarantee his future with the team if he signed a new deal with Al-Nassr, as his present deal expires in June of next year. It would help sustain his ambitions to compete in and win the upcoming World Cup tournament, which will take place in the United States in two years.

In the Saudi Pro League on Friday, Ronaldo netted his sixth goal of the year to assist Al-Nassr defeat Al-Wehda. He then scored yet again to help Stefano Pioli’s team beat Al Rayyan in the AFC Champions League Elite on Monday night.

Since joining the Middle Eastern team the former Real Madrid player has not shown signs of slowing down and continues to score goals left and right.

Ronaldo will soon turn 40. This regularity in finding his name on the scoresheet will be even more astonishing if he continues to score goals at such an age. He has always looked fit and remains at the peak of his performance for Al-Nassr.

However, for now, he will prioritise extending his deal with Al-Nassr, playing for them for more years and creating records as he certainly doesn’t have much time left in his playing career.
