Messi’s season with Inter Miami ended when his side were eliminated in MLS Cup playoffs.

Now that his second campaign with Inter Miami is over, how does Lionel Messi’s record compare to Cristiano Ronaldo’s at Al-Nassr after 39 games? We have done the math.

Messi and Ronaldo are both closing down their careers outside of Europe after ruling the continent for the better part of 20 years.

When he signed for Al-Nassr in January 2023, Ronaldo became the first player out of the two to leave Europe, and Messi moved to Inter Miami a few months later.

Even though they are both in their late thirties today, they have both performed well while competing in Saudi Arabia and the United States, respectively.

Messi joined Inter Miami while they were at the bottom of the league, and since then, he has helped the MLS team win the Leagues Cup and the Supporters’ Shield.

Ronaldo won the Arab Club Champions Cup at Al-Nassr last year, and since relocating to Saudi Arabia, he has scored goals with ease.

Since CR7 has made it clear that he wants to reach 1000 goals before he retires, we wouldn’t be shocked if he does it soon, especially considering his recent scoring pace.

Messi has only participated in 39 games for Inter Miami since joining in the summer of 2023, whilst Ronaldo has so far played 88 matches for Al-Nassr.

In addition to missing a significant portion of the 2024 season due to a ligament injury, the Argentine star has also sustained a number of other injuries during his time in the United States.

Remarkably, in their first 39 games for Inter Miami and Al-Nassr, respectively, both players scored exactly the same number of goals.
