When Portugal face Denmark at Parken Stadium in the first leg of their UEFA Nations League quarterfinal match tonight, Cristiano Ronaldo, who is 40 years old, could make his 218th outing for his country.
Throughout his remarkable 22-year career, the Al-Nassr star has netted a world-record 135 goals for his country and has enjoyed success in front of goal against Denmark.
Cristiano Ronaldo has encountered Denmark seven times in every tournament since earning his Portugal international debut in August 2003 at the age of 18, including one friendly and six competitive meetings.
Ronaldo assisted Ricardo Carvalho’s equalizer in the first half of Denmark’s 4-2 victory against Portugal in a friendly played in Brondby in September 2006, but he was unable to score.
