The Eagles have reached three FA Cup finals in their history.
Crystal Palace are one of the oldest clubs in England. Despite not winning a plenty of trophies, they have unearthed many legends who have set unprecedented records at the club. When it comes to the FA Cup, the Eagles have reached three finals of the competition.
However, they have been unsuccessful in the tournament, losing to Manchester United in two of them. But their former players have set records despite the club failing to lift the trophy. With this, we take a look at players who have scored for Crystal Palace in the competition’s final at Wembley.
4. Gary O’Reilly (1990)
Manchester United and Crystal Palace faced off in the 1990 FA Cup final in London, England’s Wembley Stadium. After additional play, the score was 3–3. Gary O’Reilly and Ian Wright responded for Palace, while Bryan Robson and Mark Hughes scored for Manchester United.
This was O’Reilly’s first-ever goal for Palace in the Wembley final. However, Lee Martin’s goal gave Manchester United a 1-0 victory in the rematch.
3. Ian Wright (1990)
Ian Wright achieved legend status at Crystal Palace. His goal for them in the FA Cup final against Manchester United helped them tie the score. What was more admirable for him was that he had recently returned from a broken leg that kept him out of the semi-final.
But he managed to score a goal after Gary O’Reilly netted their first goal. Wright’s goal against them made him the second player to find the back of the net for Palace at Wembley. This was despite them losing in a rematch against United.
2. Jason Puncheon (2016)
Crystal Palace were competing in their second cup final; the first time they had done so was in 1990, when they had drawn 3–3 in the first game and then succumbed to Manchester United in a replay.
Jason Puncheon netted from a short distance beyond David de Gea in the Manchester United goal to give Crystal Palace the lead after being substituted in the second half. His goal made him the third Palace player to have scored for Crystal Palace in a cup final at Wembley, despite them once again losing to United 2-1 in the final.
1. Eberechi Eze (2025)
Since the previous season, Eberechi Eze has emerged as one of Palace’s top players. The forward has had a significant influence on them and has scored numerous crucial goals that have determined the outcome of games.
He became the fourth man to score for the Eagles in a cup final at Wembley when he scored against Manchester City to give Palace a 1-0 lead, and the FA Title.
