Dean Huijsen contract details: How much will young defender earn after Real Madrid transfer?

The Spanish centre-back is set to wear the Los Blancos shirt next season.
Dean Huijsen has now completed his medical test and move to Real Madrid. The club reached an agreement with Bournemouth to sign the centre-back for £50 million ($66 million).
The Spain international has been given permission to fly for a medical examination, and Madrid have agreed to pay £50 million to buy Huijsen from Bournemouth, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The centre-back played with Malaga’s youth team between 2015 and 2021 but went to Juventus, where he made his official debut; now, nonetheless, he is ready to play in LaLiga for the first time. This summer, he might possibly represent Los Blancos in the Club World Cup.
The 20-year-old Huijsen just joined Bournemouth from Juventus last summer for an initial £12.8 million ($17 million), so the Cherries are profiting greatly from his acquisition. With the team firmly established in 10th place in the standings, he has made 30 Premier League matches this season.
It is believed that as the team looks to restructure their backline, Huijsen was a major target for new manager Xabi Alonso.
Premier League teams Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Newcastle were among those interested in Huijsen, who had up to seven offers on the table.
After deciding on Real Madrid, Huijsen will return to his native Spain, where he played for the youth squad of Malaga and the Costa Unida CF academy in Marbella.
In addition, Huijsen was the focus of a global struggle between his birthplace of the Netherlands and his upbringing in Spain.
In March 2025, he earned his debut for the 2024 European Champions against Netherlands after deciding to play for Spain.
Dean Huijsen’s Real Madrid contract details revealed
- €9 million salary/gross per year
- Can rise to €11 million by 2030.
According to BBC Sport, the young player will receive a respectable salary of £7.5 million (about €9 million) per year, which could increase to £9 million (about €11 million) with incentives and other benefits.
Real Madrid CEO Jose Angel Sanchez and senior recruiter Juni Calafat were leading the negotiations, and they were instrumental in the deal’s quick completion.
Huijsen’s signing will soon be confirmed, and the 20-year-old Spanish international will finish the deal in time to travel to the USA for the Club World Cup with new boss Xabi Alonso.
