The Danes will play Scotland and Greece in World Cup qualifiers.
Denmark national team manager Brian Riemer has revealed the roster for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and Greece, and Christian Eriksen has not been selected.
The 33-year-old Eriksen, who remains without a club, was left out of Riemer’s team for the forthcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying matches in September 2025.
Rather, Victor Jensen of Utrecht will have the opportunity to debut for the senior national team of Denmark.
With eight goals in eight games, including three in the Eredivisie and five in the Europa League qualifiers, the 25-year-old offensive midfielder has had an incredible start to the season in Utrecht.
Due to his illness, Gustav Isaksen is not available.
On Friday, September 5, Denmark will host Scotland. Three days later, they will travel to Greece.
Riemer reveals why he dropped Eriksen
Riemer, the manager of Denmark, believes that dropping Christian Eriksen, a lucky charm, from his team to play Scotland is the hardest choice he has ever had to make.
He said: ” It has been an incredibly difficult and big dilemma for me, as I still think that Christian is one of our best players in many areas.
“But the fact is that we ended up running out of time. He hasn’t had a club to train with in the past two and a half months. Therefore, the assessment from the coaching team is that we have to disregard Christian at this stage.”
