Mbappe joined Real Madrid as a free agent.

Kylian Mbappe finally joined his dream club this summer Real Madrid. In doing so the forward had to go through a lot of difficulties. His previous club Paris Saint-Germain did everything in their power to agree to a new deal and keep him for more years.

The French star finally managed to join Madrid for free in the recently ended summer window. There is another story with a new report emerging. As per it, the forward had agreed to join Liverpool in 2022. It was before he decided to extend his deal with the Ligue 1 club for two more years with an option to extend for a further year.

After extending his deal, the 25-year-old felt betrayed by the club. They had sold ambitions of buying Manchester City playmaker Bernardo Silva and then Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.

The report further reveals that Mbappe’s agent asked PSG to allow him to leave the club before the end of the transfer window. Mbappe was keen on leaving and this led to the former AS Monaco star not participating in PSG training. He also missed their opening game of the 2022/23 season. But it was later confirmed that he was absent due to injury.

PSG received bids from Real Madrid and Liverpool, the two foreign clubs that have always been interested in the France international.

The Reds’ bid was around €200m. Then PSG Sporting director Antero Henrique asked the Premier League club to double the amount. While Mbappe agreed to join Liverpool, a move never transpired.

Nothing actually happened as the forward remained at the club, PSG, for two more years. However, he eventually left them on a free transfer to join Los Merengues this summer.

Mbappe’s life at Real Madrid has not started the way it was expected. The forward has scored only two goals in four games. A lot of hype was placed on the player to take the league by storm.

He will return to action this weekend when Los Blancos take on Real Sociedad on Sunday night as the international break is finally over.
