Egypt announce squad for FIFA World Cup 2026 ft. Mohamed Salah

The Pharaohs will take on Belgium, Iran and New Zealand in the group stage.

Egypt have now confirmed that a 27-man contingent is going to represent them at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The upcoming edition of the mega competition is scheduled to take place in Canada, Mexico and the USA.

The Pharaohs’ head coach, Hossam Hassan, will be looking to develop a top-of-the-line strategy to survive on the world stage. He has opted for experienced players as well as youth stars, who can also support his attacking style of play.

The biggest star of Egypt, Mohamed Salah, has also been included in the squad. The 33-year-old is not having the best of the seasons, but will now be ready to represent his national team on the biggest stage of them all. Salah is going to appear in the second-ever World Cup of his career.

The Egypt national football team is placed in Group G along with the likes of Belgium, Iran and New Zealand. Getting past the group stage is going to be a tough challenge for them and it will be interesting to see how they are going to do that.
