The Rogerio Micale-led nation even found a way to send Paraguay packing home. A dramatic win in the quarter-finals allowed them a berth in the semi-finals. There they met the tournament host. Against France, Micale’s men gave the early blow. Under 10 minutes, they went ahead 1-0.

However, Les Bleus came back from behind to win 3-1. Jean-Philippe Mateta scored a brace while Michael Olise put the cherry on top. Now, the Pharoahs will have a shot at the Bronze medal against Morocco.

The Morocco football team led by Tarik Sektioui put on a terrific display early on in the competition. In Group B, they claimed the top spot. The group also had Argentina. Then in the quarter-finals, the Atlas Lions met the United States.

Morocco breezed past them as well to move into the semi-finals. Now only Spain were in their way for a chance to play in the finals.

In the semi-finals, the Atlas Lions did their bit as they scored the opener. Soufiane Rahimi scored from the penalty spot to give his nation a 1-0 lead. La Roja changed the scoreline and outcome of the match drastically in the second half.

The Spaniards fought back and won 2-1 by the final whistle. Fermin Lopez and Juanlu Sanchez scored for Spain in that match.

Morocco’s men’s football team now will have a last shot at winning a medal at the Olympics. They will take on Egypt. The winner gets the Bronze medal.
