The Blues are currently dealing with a slew of injuries.
According to head coach Enzo Maresca, three important Chelsea players are doubtful due to injuries for Tuesday’s Champions League matchup against SL Benfica.
Maresca will be totally focused on trying to get Chelsea back to winning ways. They have won just one of their last five games, which came away at League One team Lincoln City in the third round of the EFL Cup.
Prior to welcoming Jose Mourinho’s team to West London, Maresca disclosed at a press conference on Monday afternoon that three new players have surfaced with fitness worries.

In response to a query about possible team rotation, the Italian stated:
“We need to maintain levels, for sure, because the Champions League requires a high level. We have many players out with injuries.”
“This afternoon we will assess Andrey Santos, [Moises] Caicedo and Joao Pedro. They have small problems, so we will see for tomorrow if they can be available.”
Andrey Santos was taken off in the 54th minute of the game following his error in the match. Meanwhile, Joao Pedro and Moises Caicedo both completed the ninety minutes. Additionally, at the start of the season, they were known to be dealing with slight problems.
All three stars are now doubtful for the Champions League encounter, which leaves Maresca scratching his head ahead of the match. Santos and Caicedo have consistently partnered with Enzo Fernández in the middle of the pitch.
Meanwhile, Pedro’s absence will also hurt the manager. The club are now without a natural striker after the injury to Liam Delap. However, it remains to be seen if the striker will be able to recover before the fixture, as the Blues look to secure their first win in the tournament.
Are Santos, Pedro and Caicedo injured?
No, they are not injured but are unfit for the game.
How long will they be out?
They will be assessed before the Champions League game.
Who are Chelsea facing in their next UCL game?
They are playing Benfica.
