Enzo Maresca issues Cole Palmer availability news for EFL Cup clash vs Cardiff City tonight

Enzo Maresca has addressed Cole Palmer’s availability in their EFL Cup fixture against Cardiff City tonight and revealed whether the forward will play or not.
In an attempt to advance to their third semi-final in eighteen months under Enzo Maresca, Chelsea will make the trip to Wales tonight to play Cardiff City in the League Cup quarter-final.
Although the Blues are clear favourites to win at Cardiff City Stadium, Maresca is concerned about his team becoming complacent.
Maresca has revealed that Cole Palmer, a Chelsea star, will miss the match as he needs rest after recently returning from an injury.

Cole Palmer set to miss EFL Cup tie tonight
The Italian manager has confirmed that Plamer will miss the match tonight, saying:
“We need to protect him now. Cole can’t play three games in one week”.
A spot in the final four is up for grabs when they play Cardiff, but Maresca isn’t prepared to take chances with a man who has just recently rejoined the team.
Cole Palmer’s absence from the Cardiff match, according to Maresca, is due to Saturday’s crucial Premier League match at St James’ Park against Newcastle United.
The 23-year-old scored the first goal in Chelsea’s most recent 2-0 victory over Everton before Malo Gusto sealed the points at Stamford Bridge. Palmer must be in top physical shape to play Newcastle, according to Maresca.
Chelsea have been inconsistent this season without Palmer. Before their win against Everton, the Blues suffered big setbacks and will hope that they continue their winning run when they face Cardiff City tonight.
