Ralf Rangnick rejected the offer to become Bayern coach next season
After being turned down by Ralf Rangnick, Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has reportedly surfaced as a potential candidate for Bayern Munich.
Bayern decided to break ways with Thomas Tuchel and are now looking for a new manager. After the former Chelsea manager guided them to the Champions League semifinals, they might end up lamenting this choice, but more significantly, they have been rejected by their Plan A, Plan B, and now Plan C.
Their first option was Xabi Alonso of Bayer Leverkusen, but after he pledged his loyalty to Bayern’s Bundesliga opponents, they focused on former manager Julian Nagelsmann, who was fired and succeeded by Tuchel in March of last year.
The manager of Germany turned down the Bavarians’ offers and is concentrating entirely on the European Championships this summer.
Furthermore, the Bayern administration is struggling after Rangnick, the Austrian manager, rejected them.

The identity of their backup plan is unknown, although Ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is reportedly a “new name on Bayern’s list,” according to German journalist Christian Falk.
The Dutchman, who oversaw Bayern Munich II from July 2013 until June 2015, “is also being talked about at Bayern,” according to Falk, who also claims that current head coach Tuchel is considering taking Ten Hag’s place at Old Trafford.
It is said that Tuchel, who previously won the Champions League, “doesn’t want contact with United” until after Bayern Munich’s Champions League semi-final second leg at Real Madrid, even though he is “still interested” in the Red Devils position.
With Gareth Southgate also in the mix, the German manager is among the favourites to unseat Ten Hag as the next Premier League manager at the end of the current campaign.
Ten Hag and Manchester United, who have proven dreadfully inconsistent following such a good 2022–23 campaign, are facing an incredibly difficult season.
The former Ajax manager led the Red Devils to an FA Cup final, a third-place finish in the Premier League, and glory in the Carabao Cup in his first season with the team.
