Erling Haaland to Barcelona? Victor Font's team reportedly meets Manchester City to discuss striker’s availability

Victor Font’s personal interaction with Manchester City to lure Erling Haaland to the Blaugrana was the biggest move in the fight for the FC Barcelona presidency.
According to Sport, Font will battle Laporta for the presidency spot at the club. He is ready to show that he is already planning to bring some world-class players to the club.
Victor Font meets City’s board to discuss about Haaland
Ferran Sorriano, CEO of Manchester City, and Hugo Viana, sports director of the Cityzens, met at the Four Seasons Hotel in Madrid with Carles Planchart, a member of Font’s team, and Xavier Aguilar, who is expected to become sporting director.
Robert Lewandowski’s deal expires on June 30 and is unlikely to be renewed; thus, Barcelona will need to find a replacement in the summer. Erling Braut Haaland’s contract with the Cityzens expires on June 30, 2034, but there are rumours that he may leave early. The meeting’s stated goal is to try to get Haaland to Catalonia.
Font’s presidential campaign is benefiting greatly from the direct contact that has occurred:
“The sporting management is more than active these days and is working on the transfer market, travelling and meeting with various clubs.”
Victor Font’s main priority is to win the Barcelona election. However, he will face strong competition with former candidate Joan Laporta, who has been the favourite to win the election.
Moreover, Barca’s interest in signing Erling Haaland is not new. Their ability to bring the forward will mainly depend on their financial pull, considering they are not in a position to splurge.
