Erling Haaland misses FA Cup semi-final clash against Chelsea due to injury. The striker suffered an injury during City’s clash against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinals.
The first FA Cup semifinal of the weekend takes place at Wembley between Manchester City and Chelsea. The team led by Pep Guardiola wants to recover from their heartbreaking Champions League loss to Real Madrid a few days prior.
Chelsea, on the other hand, will be driven to eliminate City because this tournament is still their last chance to win a trophy this year.
However, Guardiola updated on Haaland’s availability yesterday, speaking to the media ahead of the game, he said:
“We will see,” said the Spaniard on Haaland’s availability to face fellow Premier League side Chelsea at Wembley. It was a tough game, a lot of action, high intensity for both sides. Erling felt something, a muscular issue. That’s why he told me he could not continue.
“The [doctor] said he had a little bit of niggles, a little problem, we will see how his evolution is in the next hours.”

Guardiola made an unexpected substitution of both Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne before extra time in City’s penalty shootout loss to Real Madrid, ending the team’s chances of winning the treble for a second straight year.
Guardiola went on to say that it is not shocking that his players are suffering from a demanding schedule as a result of the team’s accomplishments.
Prior to Wednesday’s loss at the Etihad, City seemed set to become the first side in history to win the Champions League, FA Cup, and Premier League twice.
With six games left, and a two-point advantage atop the league standings from last weekend, it is still on track to win the double.
The FA Cup has been won six times by City. A win would set up a championship match against Coventry City or Manchester United, the second-tier team from the previous campaign.
