Haaland broke records for previous expensive stars Henry and Ronaldo
With the first batch of FPL 2024-25 prices now out, Erling Haaland is now the most expensive player in FPL history. An astonishing £15.0m will be the value of the Manchester City star.
It’s easy to understand why the striker is so highly regarded given that he has scored 63 goals in 66 league games, in addition to 13 assists and two titles. Players of the internet-based game will have to consider carefully before spending so much money on a single player, though, given the outrageous fee.
The greatest beginning payment for a player remained £14.0m prior to this valuation. Four players achieved this: Haaland in the previous season, Thierry Henry (Arsenal in 2006–07), Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United in 2008–09), and Robin van Persie (Manchester United in 2013–14).
Unexpectedly, the website has given estimations for one player from each of the recently promoted teams that are back from the Championship in addition to disclosing Haaland’s cost.
Defensor Taylor Harwood-Bellis is valued at £4.0 million for Southampton; defender Leif Davis is valued at £4.5 million for Ipswich Town and defender Ricardo Pereira is valued at £4.5 million for Leicester City.
FPL subsequently lowered the asking rates for Kai Havertz (£8.0m) and Richarlison (£7.0m), with other drops to come, in addition to Haaland and the remaining three. Attack-oriented wingers Antoine Semenyo and Callum Hudson-Odoi both scored over 100 points in the last campaign, but their midfield positions are only worth £5.5 million.
With the Premier League scheduled to start on August 17, 2024, fans will be anxiously expecting more pricing announcements for the greatest stars, like Mohamed Salah of Liverpool and Bukaya Saka of Arsenal.
Erling Haaland was not in the highest-scoring team in FPL points the previous season, despite having the highest cost this ime around. In actuality, with only 217 points under his belt, he only came in fifth.
