A draw on matchday 2 allows both Georgia and Czechia have one point in Group F.

Georgia drew 1-1 with Czechia at Euro 2024 to win its first-ever point at a major tournament. Highlighted were the video replays after Adam Hlozek’s goal for the Czechs was disallowed due to a handball.

Georgia subsequently took the advantage thanks to a penalty kick by Georges Mikautadze after Czech defender Robin Hranec handballed the ball.

Patrik Schick netted with his chest after a header bounced off the post, the Czech team was back in the match. Shortly thereafter, Schick left with a calf injury.

With the game’s final kick, Saba Lobjanidze had a chance to win it all but missed it on a counterattack. Due to the draw, both sides will most likely need to win their remaining group match in order to advance to the next round.

Group F’s other two participating nations are Portugal and Turkey. On Saturday night, they play later.

Georgia are participating in their first-ever major tournament and will need three points if they want to go deep into the tournament. However, their defeat against Turkey felt the nation could suffer another setback but they bounced back and their hopes of remaining in the competition are still alive.

Same thing for Czechia, who will need three points in their next game and hope that Georgia loses against Portugal.

Now Portugal face Turkey in the next Euro game and the A Selecao are just a point away from guaranteeing their spot in the round of 16, meanwhile, Turkey who won against Georgia will additionally have an opportunity to reach the knockout stage.
