The quarterfinals are now taking shape with a few teams already booking their place

The first two teams to advance to the Euro 2024 quarterfinals have been determined. This comes after two Round of 16 games were finished on Saturday.

Germany’s 2-0 victory over Denmark in Dortmund secured their spot. In the first half, there were no goals scored; however, Kai Havertz opened the score from the penalty spot.

But the reigning champions, Italy, were eliminated in the first round, falling to Switzerland 2-0, who secured their spot in the round of eight.

Hosts Germany, who defeated Denmark in a match postponed due to bad weather in Dortmund, and England, who were about to lose to Slovakia in Gelsenkirchen, have joined them. Before Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane’s late equaliser kept the match alive and sent it into extra time.

As is customary for major international competitions, the quarterfinal draw will become more evident with each successive round-of-16 match since the elimination round bracket has already been determined.
