Spain face Georgia in the round of 16.

Spain have been one of the best if not the best team in the Euro 2024 group stage round. Spain were in group B alongside strong teams such as Italy, Croatia and Albania. Nonetheless, Spain started their Euro 2024 campaign on a strong note beating Croatia 3-0. The biggest test was against Italy which they also dealt with comfortably beating them 1-0. Spain manager De La Fuente made 10 changes for their third group stage against Albania and still managed to win the match.

Due to their brilliant performances, Spain topped group B winning all three of their matches, and did not concede a single goal as well.

Spain are looking like a strong contender to win the Euro 2024 however let’s take a look at their potential route to the finals.

Germany topped their group beating Scotland 5-1, Hungary 2-0, and drawing 1-1 with Switzerland. The Germans have started their tournament off well and can give Spain a tough fight. Denmark on the other hand have secured 3 draws in their group against England, Slovenia, and Serbia.

Portugal and Slovenia are set to face each other in the Round Of 16 whereas France are set to face Belgium. Portugal has topped their group F whereas France and Belgium both have been underwhelming securing second spots in group D and E respectively. Slovenia have also managed to hold on in this tournament securing a third place spot in group C.

The winner of Portugal vs Slovenia will face the winner of France vs Belgium in the quarter-finals . They will then eventually meet Spain in the semi-finals provided that Spain wins their Quarter-finals fixture.

Finals – Olympiastadion, Berlin, Sunday 14th July

Provided that Spain make it to the finals, they would have done much of the heavy lifting. Many of the big national teams are on Spain’s side of the bracket and if Spain can manage to beat them to reach the final, they will have a good chance to win the title. Spain can likely still face the likes of Italy, England or even underdogs Austria if they make it to the finals.
