Harry Kane has scored only twice in Euro 2024.

England will meet Netherlands in the semi-final of Euro 2024 following a 5-3 penalty shoot-out win against Switzerland. The Three Lions have produced an underwhelming performance so far in the competition and their star striker has himself suffered a dip in his performance despite scoring few goals.

It is surprising to see Harry Kane failing to find the back of the net more often after coming on the back of winning the European Golden Boot after joining Bayern Munich last summer. The former Tottenham Hotspur forward was productive throughout the club season but ever since he started in England’s Euro 2024 campaign, he hasn’t looked convincing with his performance.

The Three Lions haven’t played adequately throughout the competition overall, and Gareth Southgate’s setup for England have restricted them from playing seamless football, making it more challenging to create scoring opportunities and feed the ball to Kane so that he can score goals frequently.

Now the Three Lions will have to pull up their socks if they hope to reach the final as they will face Netherlands who seems to have found their form after defeating Romania 3-0 and Turkey 2-1 in the knockout stages so far.

If Kane wants to aid England in front of goal, he must display his deadly goal-scoring proficiency; if not, Southgate has two options for replacing the Bayern Munich player.

Harry Kane record vs Netherlands

Kane has faced Netherlands thrice and was unavailable for another game as he was injured. In his previous matches against the Dutch, the 30-year-old has not been able to score even a single goal.

England will once again meet Oranje in the last four of the competition and Kane will have a chance to finally break the duck against the side led by Ronald Koeman.

He is one of the Three Lions’ best goal-scorers, and strikers like him are usually the first to score goals. Although this tournament hasn’t gone well for him, perhaps he will revive his form when the Three Lions play the Netherlands.
