Euro 2024: What is Romelu Lukaku's record against France?

Lukaku has played two games against Les Blues.
Belgium has had a disappointing Euro 2024 tournament so far, with underwhelming performances during the group stage that saw them finish second in Group E, level on points with table-toppers Romania.
Domenico Tedesco’s Belgium had the worst possible start to their campaign when they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of Slovakia in their opening group game, courtesy of a first-half goal by winger Ivan Schranz. De Rode Duivels responded well, beating Romania 2-0 in the next match to get their tournament back on track.
However, Belgium slumped back to mediocrity as they concluded their group stage with a disappointing goalless draw against Ukraine in their final matchday.
The biggest glaring issue for the Red Devils has been their misfiring star players, such as Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku, who are expected to lead this new-look and revamped young Belgian side in such a massive tournament.
Heading into the crucial knockout rounds of the competition, Belgium has more questions than answers as they hope to regroup and find form during this critical stage.
The 2018 World Cup semi-finalists are set to face France at the Düsseldorf Arena in the round of 16. Les Bleus finished second in Group D, behind competition dark horse Austria.
One of the biggest concerns for Belgium in Euro 2024 has been the poor form of their star striker Romelu Lukaku, who has proven to be a reliable source of goals for his national side over the years. In a below-par Euros campaign, Lukaku has only managed to register a single assist, which came during the win against Romania, but shockingly, he has no goals to show for as of now.
The 31-year-old striker has enjoyed a fruitful international career, scoring an astounding 85 goals in just 118 caps for Belgium. During this period, he has had a mediocre record against France, scoring just one goal in four appearances against them.
Apart from two international friendly appearances against France, Lukaku’s first big tournament experience against Les Bleus came during the decisive 2018 World Cup semi-final match between the two nations, where eventual champions France came out on top in a narrow 1-0 win.
His latest appearance against them came when Belgium faced France in the 2021 UEFA Nations League semi-final, where Lukaku finally scored his first and only goal against them but was on the losing end of France’s 3-2 comeback win.
Heading into their decisive Euro 2024 round of 16 fixture, France are favorites to topple Belgium again and progress to the quarter-final stage. Romelu Lukaku will have to be at his goal-scoring best against Les Bleus in order to guide De Rode Duivels into the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.
