Real Madrid star made gesture towards Slovakia bench in the Three Lions 2-1 win.

Jude Bellingham made a noticeable gesture towards the Slovakia bench during England’s thrilling round of 16 victory at Euro 2024, and as a result, UEFA reversed course and suspended Bellingham.

On Sunday, England defeated Slovakia 2-1 to secure their place in the tournament’s next round.

After Ivan Schranz’s opening goal, Jude Bellingham scored an incredible bicycle kick goal far into the final minute to send the last-16 match into extra time. In extra time, Harry Kane scored to guarantee England’s trip to the quarterfinals.

Bellingham used social media to explain his gesture after his goal against Slovakia. According to early rumours, there were no intentions to charge the talented midfield player.

However, UEFA have now declared that an inquiry into the England player’s behaviour has been opened due to a possible breach of the fundamental guidelines for decency.

A disciplinary investigation regarding a potential violation of the basic rules of decent conduct by the English FA player, Jude Bellingham,” will be carried out by UEFA ethics and a disciplinary inspector.

In a statement, UEFA said: “The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) will decide on the matter in due course.

“Furthermore, an UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector will conduct a disciplinary investigation regarding a potential violation of the basic rules of decent conduct by the English Football Association player, Jude Bellingham, having allegedly occurred in the scope of this match. Information on this matter will be made available in due course.”

The 21-year-old might now be facing a ban at Euro 2024, which would prevent him from playing for England on Saturday against Switzerland.

Gareth Southgate, who will be missing Marc Guehi for their quarterfinal match in Dusseldorf, would suffer a severe hit from this kind of ban that could see his team without their main clutch player.
