Euro 2024: Will Kylian Mbappe start for France against Netherlands?

The Frenchman suffered an injury vs Austria
Due to a broken nose, Kylian Mbappe will miss France’s Euro 2024 match against the Netherlands.
During Monday night’s Les Bleus 1-0 victory, the Real Madrid-bound attacker was injured in a clash with Austrian defender Kevin Danso and was unable to continue.
The 25-year-old Mbappe has escaped surgery by having France seek a special mask to allow him to play as soon as possible, but Friday’s match in Leipzig is scheduled to happen too soon.
After the match, Philippe Diallo, head of the French Football Federation, stated: “The news was rather reassuring in that there is no operation in the short term.” It is a little early to set a timeline for his participation in the remaining competition.
When Mbappe will be ready to play again is a subject of controversy. Some reports in France predict that he may miss a fortnight of activity, which would imply a comeback during the knockout rounds.
Against the Dutch, Didier Deschamps will probably start Kingsley Coman on his left wing, with Bradley Barcola and Randal Kolo Muani as backups.
Netherlands team news ahead of France clash
It is not expected that France will alter their starting lineup in any way, as Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman will think about how to reduce his team’s wastefulness following their thrilling victory against Poland.

Xavi Simons could be benched after his subpar performance in the Group D opening, but Wout Weghorst is once again going to be a super-sub option after scoring the game-winning goal late.
Memphis Depay is anticipated to stay up top, leaving Donyell Malen and Jeremie Frimpong as candidates to start in his spot on the right side.
