The Red Devils were the only side to not lose a game in the league phase.

The Europa League’s league phase concluded on January 30 one day after the Champions League’s version did.

The top eight teams from the league phase advance to the Europa League round of 16 directly, much like the Champions League. Meanwhile, the other best 16 clubs will have to compete in a two-leg playoff to advance further. Complete elimination from the UEFA competition was imposed on the bottom 12 teams.

To determine who advances to the round of 16, the clubs who placed ninth through twenty-fourth in the standings will play two-leg play-off matches on February 13 and 20.

Manchester United advanced directly to the round of 16 after defeating FCSB 2-0, making them the only team to finish the group stages undefeated.

An injury-hit Rangers defeated Union Saint-Gilloise 2-1 and Tottenham defeated Elfsborg 3-0 to both escape additional games in the knockout stages.

While teams who finish 17–24 are unseeded and will face a seeded club, those in positions 9–16 are seeded in the final bracket draw. Unlike the previous iteration, this time anyone who finished 25th or lower was eliminated outright and did not have the option of dropping to the Europa Conference League.

Before the final matchday, seven clubs were destined to get eliminated from the Europa League because they lacked enough points to return to a qualifying spot.

On the last day, five more followed them. One of them were, Braga, a Portuguese team that were unfortunate not to make it to the playoff round due to goal difference.
