Every International Break in 2025: Key dates & competitions for national team calendar this year

The international break for men’s football will resume in March.
Football’s top players combine to compete for their national teams in competitions like the World Cup, European Championship, and Copa America, making them some of the most thrilling events to watch.
In contrast to lower leagues, where performers are less likely to be called up for international games, head coaches at many major teams often lament the international break out of concern for the health of their best players.
Here, we provide you with all the details regarding the forthcoming international break for this year.
Men’s International Breaks in 2025

In men’s international football, this year represents somewhat of a transitional year between the 2024 European Championship and the 2026 World Cup.
But in June and July, football fans in North America may look forward to the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The UEFA Nations League finals are held in March and June. There are six international periods in total.
March will see the start of UEFA’s World Cup qualifying matches, which will continue until June before picking up speed in September, October, and November.

The women’s international calendar is jam-packed with competitions this summer, in contrast to the men’s calendar.
On July 2, European attention will shift to Switzerland for the Women’s Euro 2025, which will begin and run until July 27. Shortly thereafter, on July 4, the OFC Women’s Nations Cup gets underway, and on July 5, the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations gets underway.
