Arsenal reached their first-ever Champions League final since 2006.
After Arsenal defeated Atletico Madrid to secure their spot in the competition’s main event, a Premier League side will play in the Champions League final for the first time since 2023.
Arsenal will make their first final appearance in 20 years after defeating the Spanish team 2-1 on aggregate, thanks to a goal in the second leg from Bukayo Saka, securing their spot in Budapest.
Additionally, the Gunners become the 17th English side set to feature in the final. They are also the first English team since 2023 to play in the championship match, which in 2026 will take place in Budapest.
Before Arsenal, several English teams have shown their dominance in the competition. This time, Mikel Arteta’s side will be looking to bring the title for the first time to Emirates Stadium in the club’s history.
Besides Tottenham, the Gunners are another big side in the league that have not won the competition in their history.
