Fans react to Karim Benzema's story featuring Cristiano Ronaldo

Benzema helped Al-Ittihad beat Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr in the King’s Cup.
Karim Benzema’s latest Instagram story following Al-Ittihad’s 2-1 win against Al-Nassr has stirred debate about whether the striker intentionally reposted the photo to mock his former Real Madrid teammate.
Benzema’s heroics in the King Cup of Champions helped them edge Al-Nassr 2-1 in the round of 16 and secure their place in the quarterfinals.
However, after the game, the Frenchman reposted a story on Instagram with a photo of him celebrating the victory, with Cristiano Ronaldo being in the background.
Many fans thought the post was in bad taste and assumed he might be trolling Ronaldo after the win. Supporters reacted to Karim Benzema’s post on X. Some criticised the striker, while others backed the player’s post.
Fan reactions to Benzema’s repost

Reacting on social media, one fan said: “Bro is trolling Ronaldo.”
Another added: “At this point Benzema just waking up to disturb Ronaldo’s peace.”
A third fan added: “Benezema has won more trophies than Ronaldo while Ronaldo’s team have spent more money. He’s the only player yet to win anything in Saudi.”
Someone else wrote: “Why? He has nothing over Ronaldo.”
However, a fifth commented: “How is Benzema trolling Ronaldo? Hes just put a photo posted by a different account on his story, that shows him and happens to have Ronaldo in it.”

Cristiano Ronaldo and Benzema were one of the top teammates at Real Madrid. They enjoyed great success together at the club. Following Ronaldo’s arrival in Saudi Arabia, Benzema followed the same path.
However, the former France international has already won a few trophies as well as a league title, while Ronaldo is still pursuing his first-ever major silverware with Al-Nassr.
With Al-Nassr out of the King’s Cup, Ronaldo still has the chance to win the Saudi Pro League title and the AFC Champions League Two this campaign if he is to end his trophy drought with the Riyadh side.
