The 23-year-old impressively put the ball back in the net. But his goal was later flagged offside as the game score went back to normal (0-0).

Fares Chaïbi, a native of Bron in Lyon’s suburbs, grew up playing for local teams SC Bron Terraillon and AS Bron. At 15, he joined FC Lyon’s development academy before moving to Toulouse in 2019. There he signed his first professional contract in February 2022.
Fares Chaïbi was a key performer in the pre-season friendly games against Nîmes and Real Sociedad, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
He earned his professional debut on August 7, 2022, featuring for Toulouse in the club’s first game back in Ligue 1, a 1-1 draw with Nice.
After a year at Toulouse, Fares Chaibi decided to switch careers and move to a Bundesliga side in 2023.
On August 30, 2023, Eintracht Frankfurt confirmed the acquisition of Chaïbi on a five-year contract for €17 million. Chaibi made his Bundesliga debut with Die Adler. A second-half replacement in a 1-1 draw against VFL Bochum.
However, in the previous season, the star midfielder didn’t enjoy a productive campaign. Chaïbi only started 10 of the 34 Bundesliga games this season, recording one goal and three assists. Additionally, he did not score or assist in any of Frankfurt’s 10 Europa League games.
Fares Chaïbi is both French and Algerian, having been born in France. In October 2020, he was called up to an Algerian U20 training camp.
The French Football Federation expressed interest in having him play for their national side during the international break in March 2023. But Chaïbi declined the call-up and accepted Algeria’s.
