Top three fastest players to reach 100 goals for any European club
Haaland has scored 100 goals for City in just three seasons at the club.
Nothing is more valuable in football than goals. Every team has a player who likes scoring goals for fun and it motivates him to score more goals in every game. Over the years we have witnessed such goalscorers who would score goals consistently. Teams spend big money searching for a goal scorer every summer.
Certain transfers are magical, while others fall short of expectations. This article honours exceptional individuals who reached 100 goals for their clubs the quickest.
3. Luis Suarez (FC Barcelona) – 120 matches
Luis Suarez, who moved from Liverpool to Barcelona in 2014, becoming the team’s record signing in the process, is the third-fastest player to reach this milestone. He needed just 120 games to achieve triple figures.
As Barcelona won the treble in 2014–15, Suarez scored 25 goals in 39 games. He refused to give up after that, scoring 59 goals the next season and 198 goals in his final six years there.
2. Erling Haaland (Manchester City) – 105 matches
Haaland’s record-tying and record-breaking goal on Sunday afternoon was his 10th Premier League goal this season and also his 100th in his three seasons at the club. He has already scored two hat-tricks in the English Premier League this season, against West Ham and Ipswich Town, as the Cityzens looked to bounce back to the top of the standings right away after Liverpool’s victory on Saturday.
There is a real worry that he isn’t human given how robotic his goal-scoring displays for Manchester City have been since he joined the team. Many predicted that Haaland would struggle to score goals in the Premier League but the former Borussia Dortmund player started firing cylinders right away. He hasn’t stopped since then.
1. Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) – 105 matches
What distinguishes Cristiano Ronaldo from Haaland, however, is that the 39-year-old was once a winger before he became a striker. Ronaldo was never a striker in his prime years, he was a winger who had an eye for goal. The Portuguese legend used to find the back of the net from anywhere on the pitch regardless of how tight the angel would be.
The legendary Portuguese player had to settle for nothing more than the Copa del Rey at the end of his debut season with Real Madrid. That being said, he never had any trouble scoring goals. After everything was said and done in the Spanish capital, he finished as the club’s all-time leading goalscorer with 451 goals in 438 appearances.
