14 nations will set to contest for the inaugural title
The FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 schedule has been announced, with the inaugural edition of the tournament set to take place from September 24 to October 5.
The FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 will feature 14 national teams competing across two divisions, with Indonesia and Hong Kong, China hosting the competition. The tournament will see teams battle through the group stage before the finalists compete for the inaugural title.
While talking about 14 different nations from Southeast Asia and several guest nations from worldwide, they are all ready to lock horns in the competition. Where teams like Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, China, Pakistan, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Timor-Leste will set for the contest in two different divisions, including pot 1 and pot 2.
Indonesia to host Division 1 featuring eight teams in two groups

The FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 will feature 14 national teams, comprising all 11 ASEAN member associations and three invited teams from the wider region. The inaugural edition has been divided into two divisions, with Division 1 being hosted in Indonesia and Division 2 taking place in Hong Kong, China.
Division 1 will feature hosts Indonesia alongside Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The division will also include invited teams Bangladesh and Pakistan. These eight teams will be split into two groups and will compete in a single round-robin format during the group stage.
Division 2 will consist of hosts Hong Kong, China, who are also participating as an invited side, along with Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Timor-Leste. The six teams will also be divided into two groups and will play each opponent in their respective group once.
The group-stage format means that each team will have limited opportunities to secure a place in the final. The winners of the two groups in each division will advance to the respective division finals, where they will compete for the tournament trophy.

The two group runners-up in Division 1 will also face each other in a third-place playoff. FIFA has designed the competition to provide national teams with meaningful international matches during the September-October men’s international window while also creating a platform for established and emerging teams in the region.
The tournament will be played between September 24 and October 5, with Division 1 matches taking place in Indonesia and Division 2 fixtures being hosted in Hong Kong, China. The inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup is expected to add a new dimension to international football in the region.

Six teams will feature in the FIFA ASEAN Cup Division 2
In Division 2, Hong Kong and China will host the game, where Kai Tak Stadium and Mong Kok are ready to welcome Hong Kong, China, Brunei, Cambodia, Myanmar and Timor-Leste.
The FIFA ASEAN Cup Division 1 final will be played on 5th October at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, and the Division 2 final is set to take place on 4th October 2026 at the Kai Tak Stadium.
