FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026: Updated Standings in Premier Division and Challenge Division after Cambodia vs Myanmar
Malaysia and Thailand have had a strong start to their respective FIFA ASEAN Cup campaigns
The inaugural edition of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 kicked off last week, with eight teams having been divided into two groups in the Premier Division. On the other hand, six teams have been divided into two groups in the Challenge Division.
Indonesia is hosting the Premier division while Hong Kong is hosting the Challenge division of the tournament. As of this writing, all teams have completed at least one game in both divisions.
Here are the standings of the groups in the Premier and Challenge divisions of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026:
Premier Division

Group A
The group features Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Singapore. Malaysia started the tournament with a dominant 3-0 win against Bangladesh. In the other match, Indonesia beat 10-man Singapore 2-0 to gain all three points in the FIFA ASEAN Cup.
Malaysia and Indonesia will meet on Monday at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta. Currently second in the group, the Garuda team will have the home advantage and be the favourites on paper heading into this FIFA ASEAN Cup clash.

Group B
Group B features Thailand, Philippines, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Thailand won their opening game 4-0, beating Pakistan courtesy of a brace from Teerasak Poeiphimai. Vietnam, on the other hand, won 1-0 against the Philippines in what was a tight contest that saw Nguyen Bac score the winner.
Just like Group A, Thailand’s leaders will face second-placed Vietnam on matchday 2 on Tuesday. The winner of this game will have a foot in the Premier Division final; hence, the stakes will be high!

Challenge Division
Group A
Laos, Hong Kong, and Brunei are paired up in Group A of the Challenge Division, with only the winner guaranteed a place in the knockout stage. Laos have completed both their games. They beat Brunei 3-1 in the group opener and lost 4-0 to Hong Kong on Monday.
Hong Kong will face Brunei on Wednesday, after which we will get clarity on who will qualify for the Challenge Division final.

Group B
Group B in the challenge division features Myanmar, Cambodia, and Timor-Leste. Leaders, Myanmar have played both of their games. They beat Timor-Leste 2-0 in the first game before losing 1-0 to Cambodia on Sunday.
We will get clarity on this group only after the Timor-Leste vs Cambodia match is completed on 30th September. If Cambodia draw or wins that match, they will immediately secure a ticket to the Challenge Division final.
