FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026: Premier Division & Challenge Division updated points table after Pakistan vs Thailand
Malaysia lead Group A in the Premier Division following a thumping 3-0 week over Bangladesh
The inaugural edition of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 kicked off on Thursday. Eight teams have been divided into two groups in the Premier Division, and six teams have been divided into two groups in the Challenge Division.
The matches for the Premier division are being contested in Indonesia, while matches of the Challenge division, which is the second division, are being played in Hong Kong. The tournament will conclude on 5th October, with the Premier division final scheduled to be played in Jakarta.
India were also initially selected to be part of the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup. However, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) eventually decided to withdraw its participation after committing to play friendlies against Panama, Brazil, and Uruguay in this international window.

Malaysia started their FIFA ASEAN Cup campaign with a dominant 3-0 win against Bangladesh as Arif Aiman and Bergson scored for the Malayan Tigers.
In the other match, 118th-ranked Indonesia beat 10-man Singapore 2-0, with Oratmangoen and Ole Romeny on target for the Garuda.

The first match of this group was played between Pakistan and Thailand, where Thailand registered a comfortable 4-0 win courtesy of goals from Jude Soonsup-Bell and Teerasak Poeiphimai, and an own goal from Haris Zeb.

Group A
Laos, Hong Kong, and Brunei are paired up in this group, with only the winner guaranteed a place in the knockout stage.
Laos beat Brunei 3-1 in the group opener, and they are now seeking to continue their form in their upcoming game against Hong Kong on Sunday.
