FIFA Club World Cup 2025: DAZN Editorial's Team of the Tournament

DAZN picked only three PSG players in their team of the tournament.

Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 final in New Jersey, making the Premier League team the first victors of the redesigned 32-team competition.

However, before the start of the competition, criticism was at its peak. The tournament didn’t have any positive feedback when FIFA announced that their redesigned Club World Cup will see 32 teams playing.

On the eve of the championship match, FIFA president Gianni Infantino declared, “We can say definitely that this Fifa Club World Cup has been a huge, huge, huge success.”

It used to be a yearly winter competition for the six continental champions and one host club, but starting in 2025, it was expanded into a World Cup-like format.

Over the course of a month, thirty-two teams—some from each continent— participated in 63 games throughout the US, including the championship match.

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp described it as the “worst idea ever implemented in football,” while some have referred to it as an Infantino vanity project.

Extreme weather, player exhaustion, and the potential ripple effects in next season have all been problems, as has the lack of spectators for several group games.

The competition finally ended with Chelsea winning the trophy. But there are still many questions left unanswered, whether it was a successful tournament, and whether FIFA has managed to achieve their objective.

Despite all the backlash, FIFA has also provided a platform to all the unheralded sides, playing against some of the European top giants. Many players have also shone for their respective teams. Now, DAZN, which was the main broadcaster of FIFA Club World Cup 2025 matches, has released the Team of the Tournament.
