The French club are among the favourites to win the tournament.

Paris Saint-Germain were pulled into an intriguing group that included the Seattle Sounders, Brazilian powerhouse Botafogo, and European rivals Atletico Madrid.

PSG defeated Atletico Madrid 5-0 in their inaugural Club World Cup encounter, showcasing their explosive play. However, they were surprisingly defeated by Botafogo in their second match.

They defeated the Seattle Sounders in Group B to complete the group stage fixtures. We now examine their possible rivals on the route to the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 final.

In the round of 16, PSG, the winners of Group B, played Inter Miami, the runners-up of Group A. It resulted in a reunion with Lionel Messi, the former forward for PSG. Before even the game began, the French side appeared clear favourites to win this game.

Unlike Botafogo, Miami failed to pull off a remarkable win against the French club. After winning 4-0 in the round of 16, Paris Saint-Germain are overwhelming favourites, now that they have secured their place in the quarter-finals.

In the quarter-finals, the French side will face a tough team in the last eight of the competition. Bayern Munich faced Flamengo in the round of 16. The German club were the frontrunners to win against the Brazilian club.

They did end up being in real life, too. A 4-2 win means we will now see an entertaining European heavyweight clash.

The winner between Bayern and the French side will most probably face Real Madrid in the semi-final, as the Spanish club are in the same bracket as Luis Enrique’s team.

Los Blancos will take on Juventus in the round of 16. If they manage to win the game, they will next take on the winner between Monterrey and Borussia Dortmund. Their next opponent in the semi-final could either be PSG or Bayern.

If Paris Saint-Germain beat Real Madrid in the semi-final, they will face their final opponent from the other bracket, which could potentially be Manchester City. City have been the most dominant club in the competition so far.
