FIFA names PIF official supporter of World Cup 2026

PIF aims to expand its football to a global level.
As the nation strengthens its connections with international football in preparation for hosting the 2034 tournament, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has been designated as an official tournament supporter in North America for this year’s FIFA World Cup 2026.
From June 11 to July 19, the United States, Canada, and Mexico will co-host the 2026 World Cup. It will be the first edition of the global spectacle to include 48 teams.
According to PIF and FIFA, the cooperation involves support for global initiatives that include grassroots programs, youth and women’s football, education projects, and attempts to improve infrastructure and technical knowledge.
Neither specific activations nor financial information were revealed.
PIF set to be FIFA World Cup 2026’s official supporter

In advance of Saudi Arabia hosting the 2034 World Cup, the agreement underscores the fund’s growing business links with international football and expands on PIF’s collaboration with FIFA for the World Cup.
“PIF continues to accelerate the growth of football globally by expanding access to the game and creating opportunities that benefit players, fans and the wider football ecosystem,” said Mohamed AlSayyad, head of corporate brand at PIF, in a statement.
Saudi Arabia, who fired head coach Hervé Renard last month, will play Uruguay on June 15 to begin their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign.
They are in group H, alongside Spain and Cape Verde. They will be looking to make a mark in the tournament in the summer.
They made history when they defeated Argentina in the opening group match of the 2022 World Cup. This nation from the Middle East will be looking to emulate something similar in this year’s competition as well.
What will be the aim of PIF in supporting the FIFA World Cup 2026?
The initiatives include grassroots programs, youth and women’s football, education projects, and attempts to improve infrastructure and technical knowledge.
