Matchday 4 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup provided plenty of action, with 19 goals scored across four matches. Germany dominated Curaçao, winning 7-1. The Netherlands and Japan then had a thrilling 2-2 tie, with Côte d’Ivoire edging Ecuador 1-0. Sweden completed the day with a crushing 5-1 victory over Tunisia.
However, the Germany game stood out as the highlight of matchday 4. They demolished Curacao, who made their World Cup debut. In the game, Kai Havertz recorded a brace, while Joshua Kimmich and Denis Undav had two assists each.
Meanwhile, the Ivory Coast edged Ecuador with a narrow win and also recorded a clean sheet. However, the last game of matchday four provided plenty of stories and records. Sweden beat Tunisia 5-1 without breaking a sweat, with Yasin Ayari scoring a brace.
