United are open to selling the centre-back.

Manchester United have done decent business during the transfer window. There could be more incoming players this summer. But the club will also have to work on some outgoings to generate revenue and comply with PSR (Premier League Sustainability Rule).

United have made Victor Lindelof available in this transfer market. Italian side Fiorentina are working on a deal to sign the centre-back. The Serie A side are trying to see if they can afford the player’s price and his salary.

The centre-back has one year left on his United contract. If a satisfactory offer arrives the club will sell the player. They have already signed Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt to reinforce their defence.

Given Victor Lindelof’s team have signed two new centre-backs, the Swedish player’s role could further drop down in the pecking order. However, with Yoro sidelined for a long time, Lindelof could be a great backup at United. But he would want more minutes and might consider his future somewhere else.

It seems Erik ten Hag could prefer a centre-back pairing of Lisandro Martinez and De Ligt, while Harry Maguire and Johnny Evans could be second choice pair. This will put the 30-year-old’s game time at Old Trafford in danger.

United will only sell Lindelof if they get an offer which meets their demands otherwise the centre-back will be part of the squad for this season. The player had always stepped up when Ten Hag was left with no options at the back last season.

The Sweden international can always be counted on, He delivers impressive performances. But his future doesn’t seem to lie at United and he could consider other options for his career.

Victor Lindelof is an underrated defender. Sometimes his performance might have been overshadowed due to United’s poor run last campaign. If he does leave the club, he will be an excellent fit for any team.
