The Brazilian player is linked with many clubs.
With Boca Juniors skipper Leandro Paredes asserting that the Argentine team is ready to “wait” for the Brazilian superstar, Neymar has seen another transfer door emerge in front of him.
Neymar is currently serving out the remainder of his contract during a second stint at Santos. It was originally speculated that, upon reaching free agency, he might join Lionel Messi at Inter Miami.
Early in 2026, the 33-year-old playmaker seems destined to take on yet another task. His sentimental return to Santos, where it all started, has not gone as planned; Brazil’s all-time top scorer is now stuck in an unexpected relegation battle and dealing with more injuries.
Neymar wants to start over before the 2026 World Cup next summer, so a parting of ways there seems probable. The former attacker for FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain has ruled out going back to Europe. It is more likely that he will stay in South America.
Leandro Paredes opens the chance for Neymar to join Boca Juniors

Paredes told Mundo Boca Radio that Boca Juniors may welcome a familiar face to La Bombonera in 2026 when they play in the Copa Libertadores:
“I talk to Ney a lot. The truth is, I have a very good relationship with him. We’re friends. We’re always in contact, but he’s at his club, we have to respect the other clubs, the decisions of the other players, so I can’t say much.”
Paredes went on to say with a smile: “We’ll wait for him if he wants!”
Rival teams in his own country have reportedly expressed interest. Meanwhile, moving to Argentina would enable him to reunite with former PSG teammate Paredes in Buenos Aires.
