Four clubs register interest in signing Jonathan David on a free transfer from LOSC Lille

The forward will leave Lille in the summer
Earlier this week, Jonathan David, 25, announced that he would be leaving Lille OSC at the end of the season when his contract expires. As a result, what was long presumed has finally been confirmed.
Since January, David has been free to negotiate pre-contract terms with other teams, and interest has been high. Both Serie A and the Premier League clubs have shown a great deal of interest. L’Équipe revealed that Jonathan David is still in contact with clubs from both of these leagues.
According to the same report, negotiations to sign the LOSC forward on a free transfer are still ongoing between Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, Napoli, and Juventus.
Fabrizio Romano had earlier in the week claimed that Napoli were in advanced negotiations to sign the Canadian international, but as the season draws to a close, it appears that the race to sign him is still open.
On Saturday night, Jonathan David played his last match for Lille against Stade de Reims.
Jonathan David has scored 109 goals in 231 games since joining Lille from Gent in Belgium in 2020. In 2020–21, he led the team to its first Ligue 1 title in ten years. In addition, the 25-year-old has scored 32 goals in 61 appearances for Canada.
The forward, who has previously been subject to transfers to Manchester United and Arsenal, but he stated that Spain would be his favourite destination.
Speaking to the It’s Called Soccer podcast, he said: ‘I think I can adapt to every league. Every league has its differences.
‘The Premier League is a lot faster and more physical than all of the other leagues. But for me, I grew up watching a lot of LaLiga and for me, that would be my preferred league.
‘That is the league that I enjoyed watching the most so one day I would like to play there.’
