The competition debutants will be eager to prove their quality at the sport’s biggest event.
Every soccer fan hopes to see their country compete in a World Cup, but for many of FIFA’s 211 member countries, that goal is still just that—a dream.
However, the FIFA World Cup 2026 competition, which is co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States, has opened the door for countries that would have previously failed. It expanded soccer’s premier event to 48 teams.
Some nations have found success at the perfect moment, with their golden generations propelling them to their first-ever finals.
We will only see four of those nations present when the competition begins on June 11. This is despite the fact that up to nine possible newcomers were in the running for the 2026 World Cup going into the March playoffs.
Which four nations are set to make their debut in the FIFA World Cup 2026?

Jordan, Uzbekistan, Cape Verde, and Curaçao have all punched their tickets.
Cape Verde, a volcanic archipelago of 10 islands off the west coast of Africa, won Group D of the FIFA World Cup African qualifiers, defeating Cameroon to take first place. Now, in Group H, Cape Verde will play Saudi Arabia, Uruguay, and Spain at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Meanwhile, Jordan will play Austria, Algeria, and Argentina in Group J of the World Cup. They have some skilled players who are prepared to step up, even though that seems like a difficult test for the rookies.
The smallest country to ever qualify for the World Cup was Curaçao. When they play Germany, Ecuador, and the Ivory Coast in Group E, they will have their work cut out for them.
Uzbekistan, the first country in Central Asia to qualify for a World Cup, finally drove out the ghosts of previous near-misses to reach the biggest soccer tournament. They are drawn in Group K and will face a host of big names such as Portugal, DR Congo and Colombia.
